Peyton finally has his day by beating my Bears :( I knew I was in trouble when I had to root for a Florida QB!!!

Peyton sealed his fate in the Hall of Fame for sure with the great performance. Congrats to our former Vol

Another 4th quarter bonanza! It was looking pretty bleak until the second half again. Glad there are 60 minutes instead of 30 minutes to a football game :) Good solid win but we still need work. Consistency is the key! Hopefully we can put a solid game together at home against LSU!!!! It's another 3:30 game and we fans need to be prepared to cheer!! Let's give our Vols our support early and often!

Poop at home?

Why can't we play well at home? The past couple years we have played horribly at home and even worse after a bye week? And what is up with the crowd not getting into game untill the 4th quarter? Come on Guys! I know it was an afternoon of tailgating but our vols need us to keep our heads in the game too!

Tomorrow we play the devil re-incarnated as a weasel looking football coach! We better keep our whits about us in this one cause South Carolina scares me! Believe you me spurrier will have his team ready and pumped to pull an upset. They should have beaten Auburn and let that one slip away and if we don't get up on the quick and stay strong I could easily see them not letting another slip away from them. We need to come out and show them we mean business and give them a nice Tennessee Thumping!

This weekend only!! it's ok to be a georgia fan ;)

WOW! is all I have to say! We sure put them puppy dogs in their place huh? The most points scored in TN vs. GA history. Ainge was Dead on for the entire game for a change and looks like the WRs and QB are finally on the same page! The offensive line stepped it up big time for this game and hopefully we'll see more of the same with the rest of the year. Ainge had all day to throw and that's exactly what he did. 268 yards passing and 129 yards rushing for the game. That's a fair balance for the outcome of this game. I would like us to run more. Special Teams still an issue as we gave up a punt return for a touchdown and a kick off return for a touchdown, that can't happen again or somebody will beat us on those mistakes. They did make a nice punt block for a touchdown though so one of those returns was rectified. Replay of the game is on CSS Monday nights(tonight) at 8pm with the Fulmer show at 7pm. For sure a TN instant classic! Down by 17 point to come back and just whip the dawgs to their 2nd worst defeat between the hedges!

I wish we could play Bama next week cause we are definitley clicking right now but alas we have to wait two weeks to play the tide. RockTop Central will be waiting!

Mid-Week update

Sorry for the late site update this week... Work, family, etc, blah, blah blah. This week is Memphis and everybody know we should we should send them tigers back to their locker room with their tails between the legs! Over confidence could be our weakness though, Everybody remembers that one loss in the toilet, I mean liberty bowl don't you? I don't see us having much of a problem with Memphis as they just haven't been able to click yet this year. Look for a good game though. Hopefully we'll be able to run on them and get that part of the offense going. Ainge still needs to settle down!! Still too many passes behind the intended receiving and too many mistakes. Let's keep those mistakes to a minimum this week and we should come out on top without a problem.

Going to the game? If you're heading there early remember that tunica is only 30 minutes south of Memphis if you're into a little gambling before the game! Good time there. I recommend Fitzgeralds or Sams Town, both were good to me ;) And if you like BBQ then Memphis is the place to be! Be sure to check out Rendevous, Goooooood Ribs. You also have Graceland if you like that sort of thing.

Ok, I know I'm late on this but I wanted to comment. Have you ever been asked to tone it down at a game? Well that happened to one UT fan Victoria in her first year with season tickets in sections S no less, nice donation to get them. If you didn't know sections R-W are considered "old money" tickets so I wasn't too shocked to see this front page article. So, I guess she's loud at a football game? God forbid huh? I sit way up in XX5 and when I look down to lower deck I see tons of people standing up with their hands on the sides not cheering one bit! And this was at the Florida game! So what if she's loud? It's a football game! If you didn't want the noise then you should have stayed home. I will say though there is cheering etiquette and she did break some of those rules. First, you don't cheer when we're on offense driving the ball. Why? Crowd noise people! Our offensive line needs to hear the play and hear the snap count. Second, Don't make comments after a player has been hurt! Apparently she said "Pay them Back" after Johnson got hurt. She says she meant pay them back by winning the game... Well, ok, but she shouldn't have said that either. Just keep quiet in those situations or say I hope he's alright. I guess the big issue is people around her don't think she's respectful to them. What irks me is that all these people had to do was politely ask her to tone it down a little and I'm sure she would have. When you're cheering you tend to tone everybody out don't you? I do. When I'm cheering I"m in my own world and I'm not really noticing the people around me. Next time instead of whining to the university why don't you just nudge the person being 'disrespectful' to you and ask them to tone it down.

What sucks is that now Victoria is considering not attending anymore UT Games!!!!!!! To the people that complained! Thanks you jackasses! You made a fan lose some of their enthusiasm for the game! That really hurts the most I think. You went behind her back and tattled like a little school boy, how about growing up fools. I hope she continues to come to UT games! Don't give up your dream Victoria! Come back and cheer your heart out!

Tough Loss

Phew... what a game huh? Tought loss to take. We played pretty good but still a little too many mistakes by our QB and Receivers, they need to get on the same page!! Need to work on the running game guys! We had NEGATIVE 11 yards rushing! When's the last time that happened?

Next time take the sack Ainge! Dangit! Instead of running for your life buck up an take a sack! Running backwards like a chicken with it's head cutoff and then aimlessly trying to throw the ball cost of field goal range! If we kicked the field goal and missed, fine, but we didn't even give wilhoit a chance to get into the game! Sometimes trying to get away just doesn't do any good!

I know this was a rough game throughout but you should at least stay to the end vol fans! It really disgusted me after Florida went up by 1 point to see the aisle filled with fans leaving the game with 6 and 1/2 minutes left! Have some faith in your team people, Damn! If you're going to leave before the game ends then just don't bother coming. Sell your tickets to a fan that's going to stay and cheer! I'm not a vocal person but I know when the heck our team needs me to cheer for them and Florida game is it! Then when it was 4th and 16th with a little over 3 minutes to play Many, Many people around me we're sitting down with their bags in their lap with one foot out the stadium already and as soon as we turned it over they were up so fast I thought their asses were burning or something? With 3 minutes to and 1 time out we still had a chance people! Apparently nobody remembers Arkansas 98 do they? I'm so glad you got to your cars so you could wait in traffic before everybody else...good job! Our team needs us fans! Stay till the end and cheer!

What next? Well, just gotta put this loss behind us and work on Marshall next. Still have plenty of football left. Kudos to Justin harrell for a great last game as a Vol. Good luck on the NFL draft in April!

Hottest Ticket in Town

This annual game between Tennessee and Florida is always the hottest ticket in town and this year is no exeception! Upper Level tickets are going for between double and triple face vaule on eBay currently and I don't even want to mention lower level. Face Value is $44 if you were wondering. I'd like to offer some buying tips if you are waiting till gameday to purchase.

Believe it or not there are always tickets available! If you've waiting till gameday then basically your best option is buy from the plethora of scalpers that loiter around the campus. Yep, I hate them SOB's as much as you do! Don't buy from the first scalper! Walk around and listen in on what they are going for and then pick your best option. They are out to get you, remember that! They pull every kind of bull they can think of. "It's undercover" It's a bright sunny day out dumbass! "Great view of the jumbtron" Over half the stadium can see the jumbtron, whoopdie do buddy! There are also video monitors showing the replays and promo stuff around the stadium, The south endzone let say rows 25-40 can't see the jumbotron or video monitors. That's a gestimate but I would say pretty close. Know the stadium! Bring your own seating chart!
Print it out and take it with you. Stick firm on your price. Many of these guys don't like to haggle but again, there are plenty of them out there so if you don't like what you hear move along to the next guy. The only problem with that is many act as a team and are close together so try and get one standin on his own. Keep your cool, don't get mad at them cause you'll only hurt for the next guy. I don't know what else to say? You should have got some before gameday so now you have to deal with the vile of the earth! Scalpers!

So, how much are they really worth?, well you guess is as good as mine but here is the general rate. Double face value is common so expect to pay that per ticket for a pair.... when you have 3 or 4 together then maybe add 10-20% cause "They're together". Chairbacks.... Double Face plus 25% or more, "They're chairbacks".

Your best bet for cheap tickets? Pray for rain and bring your water wings.

Gator Time!

Well... it's Gator week!! Florida comes to town this week and I'm sure it will be a showdown to the finish. But enough with the game for a minute and let's talk about something just as important. The tailgate before the game! An 8pm game means an ALL day tailgate fest. Of course, you can't have a Florida tailgate without a little gator meat! Good Enough

Well.... we didn't exactly contain them but.... we scored more points and that equals a win!. Tough game but victory is ours! Air Force has one heck of an offense going, if they had any sort of defense it would have been a different story. They sure do have some good athletes! Defense was on their heels most of the night but fortunately the Ainge and Meachem/Swain tandum continued tonight! At one point Ainge had 15 in a row completed passes! Only a couple behind the receivers tonight so all around good performance for him. No running game tonight and Foster got hurt, hope he's ok for Florida.

I'm starting to really lik this Hardesty kid. He has got some moves!! Now he just need a little power. Xavier Mitchell stepped it up for this game and had 13+ tackles the biggest coming with less than two minutes to go on the goal line to stop the 2 point conversion keeping the score at 31-30!

Let's rest up, heal up, and get ready for the Gators!!

Air Force Today

Everybody seems to think Air Force offense will romp on us today but I think otherwise! We have too much speed for them and we will contain their fancy offense. Look for another big VOLS Victory.

Wow! What an impressive start compared to last season huh? Defense looked good, offense looks good! I clearly see some rising stars in this bunch! Very handedly took care of the 9th ranked team in the nation! Controlled the Bears' heisman hopeful and defended the pass very well. Next up is Air Force! Bring em on! GO VOLS

Well, It's FOOTBALL TIME IN TENNESEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! Looks like it's going to be a great day for football! and tailgating :) We've got an exciting match-up today with the California Bears and our Tennessee Vols! I can't wait to get into Neyland this afternoon! Go VOLS!
